The Yukon is a place that is rich with First Nations presence, culture and heritage. Yukon Heliski owner, Peter Wright, was adopted into the Tahltan First Nation at a very young age, and Yukon Heliski remains closely connected with several northern First Nations, and is always seeking to deepen those connections.

Yukon Heliski gratefully and humbly works and plays on the traditional territory of the Taku River Tlinglit, Carcross Tagish, and Champagne and Aishihik First Nations).

belongs to the youth - midnight rv

Yukon Heliski hosts an annual ski camp with youth from Carcross/Tagish First Nation, Lil’wat First Nation, and other northern First Nations in the area. The goal of the kids camp is to show how a business operation on a traditional territory can focus on developing a relationship with a First Nation community that owns the land. The intention is also to expose local youth to outdoor recreation and conservation as a potential career.

Pete is a modern placer gold miner, striving to care for the land as he mines it.
